Nature Expedition
Que tal fazermos uma bela expedição e conhecer a
maior cachoeira do mundo. Vai ser um salto e tanto, pois a catarata Salto
Ángel, localizada no Parque Nacional Canaima, na Venezuela, é a cachoeira mais
alta do mundo, reconhecida pelo "Guiness World Records" .
Este Parque situa-se no extremo sudeste da
Venezuela, ao sul do Rio Orinoco, no município Grande Sabana do Estado Bolívar,
sendo decretado Parque Nacional em 12 de junho de 1962. Possui 3 milhões de
hectares, ocupando a segunda maior área natural protegida na Venezuela e a
sétima no mundo.
Com 979 metros, o Salto Ángel é mais de 12 vezes
mais alto que as Cataratas do Iguaçu, cujas quedas d’água chegam a, no máximo,
80 metros de altura.
Sua queda é tão alta que, apesar do grande volume
de água que sai de seu topo, ela é vaporizada antes de chegar ao solo e atinge
a base da montanha como uma névoa fina.
O nome da cachoeira foi dado em homenagem a Jimmy
Angel, um piloto americano que foi o primeiro a sobrevoar o local, em 1933. O Parque Nacional Canaima está situado no sudoeste
da Venezuela e tem várias outras cachoeiras, além de rios, lagos, montanhas e
florestas.
Como Fazer esta expedição
Dá para ir de avião até as proximidades, partindo
de Caracas ou Ciudad Bolívar. Várias
agências oferecem um pacote completo. Mas o último ponto onde se pode chegar
por terra é Paraguá. A partir daí, os barcos são a melhor opção, percorrendo os
rios Caroni, Carrao e Churum. De quebra, haverá um trecho de caminhada.

How about we make a beautiful expedition and meet the highest waterfall
in the world. It will be a jump and both, as the Angel Falls (Spanish:Salto
Ángel), located in the Canaima National Park in Venezuela is the highest waterfall
in the world, recognized by the "Guinness World Records".
This park is located at the southeast end of Venezuela, south of the Orinoco
River in the municipality of Sabana Grande Bolivar State, being decreed National
Park on June 12, 1962. It has 3 million hectares, occupying the second largest protected
natural area in Venezuela and the seventh in the world.
With 979 meters, the Angel Falls is more than 12 times higher than the Iguaçu
Falls, whose waterfalls reach a maximum of 80 meters high.
His fall is so high that, despite the large volume of water coming out of
the top, it is vaporized before reaching the ground and reaches the base of the
mountain as a fine mist.

How this expedition
Can you go by plane to the vicinity, from Caracas or Ciudad Bolívar, which is the nearest large town. Several agencies offer a complete package.
